-
- CONDO version [1] is user supported software. This means that you may copy
- it freely and give the copies away to anyone you wish, at no cost. They are
- in turn requested to send in a contribution if they decide to use it.
-
- The user supported software concept (often referred to as shareware) is an
- attempt to provide software at a low cost. The cost of offering a new
- product by conventional means is staggering and discourages independent
- authors and small companies from developing and promoting their ideas. User
- supported software is an attempt to develop a new marketing channel, where
- products can be introduced at low cost.
-
- If user supported software works, then everyone will benefit. The user will
- benefit by receiving quality products at low cost, and by being able to
- examine the software thoroughly before purchasing it. The author benefits
- by being able to enter the commercial software market without first needing
- large sources of capital.
-
- But it can only work with your support. If you obtain a user supported
- program from a friend or colleague, and are using it, then it is obviously
- worth something to you, and a contribution should be sent.

- REAL ESTATE
- Note:
- * all real estate must be purchased from the bank
- * any real estate can be purchased after it has been returned to the
- bank including apartments, hotels, condominiums when it is landed on
- Lot:
- * your token must land on the lot in order to purchase it
-
- Apartment:
- * your token must land on the same square as the apartment to purchase
- it
-
- Hotel:
- * your token can be on either square the hotel is on to purchase it
-
- Condominium:
- * your token can be on any one of the three squares the condominium
- is on to purchase it
-
- RETURNING REAL ESTATE TO THE BANK
- Note:
- * all apartments, hotels, condominiums must go with their lots and
- will automatically be taken when one of their lot numbers is returned.
- Since the cost of moving it would be as much as the value of the
- structure.
-
- Lot:
- * if you enter a lot number without any structures on it, just the lot
- will be taken
-
- Apartment:
- * if you enter a lot number with an apartment on it, the apartment plus
- the lot will be taken
-
- Hotel:
- * if you enter a lot number with a hotel on it, the hotel plus the
- lots the hotel is on will be taken. The bank does not consider
- half a hotel worth much.
-
- Condominium:
- * if you enter a lot number with a condominium on it the condominium
- plus the lots the condo is on will be taken. Again, the bank does
- not consider 1/3 of a condominium worth much.
-
- EXPLANATION OF ODDS
- A note on how odds are figured.
- * odds are shown as being (x) to 10
- example:
-
- 1 to 10 one time out of ten tries you would be successful
- on the average.
-
- 9 to 10 nine times out of ten tries you would be successful
- on the average.
-
- Crime Victim
- The actual odds will vary from the odds shown randomly from 0 to 2
- points because:
-
- 1. the mugger may be exceptionally clumsy or his club could
- be rotten.
- 2. the mugger could be new at mugging or an old pro etc
-
- SHADY DEALS
- The actual odds will vary from the odds shown randomly from 0 to 3
- points because:
-
- 1. the police investigating may be exceptionally stupid or
- smart
- 2. your alibies reliability could vary considerably, etc
-
- HORSE RACES
- The actual odds will vary from the odds shown randomly from 1 to 4
- points because:
-
- 1. odds at a horse race are calculated by how may people bet
- on each horse
- 2. some people bet on a horse because it has done well in
- other races
- 3. others bet on a horse because they like the horses name, etc.
